I just wanted to get this on the Net. I don’t know how many other blogging runners out there have done so, but none of the major local news outlets have said anything about it yet. So….this year’s Governor’s Bay Bridge Run has been cancelled due to excessive winds. So there.

 At least I got a very pretty gym bag.

I’ve been poking around trying to find a good beignet recipe. I was inspired to try making them again after a recent trip to Nawlins, and the required pilgrimage to Cafe du Monde. Yum. But i wanted to try and make them on my own and not rely on the CDM boxed mix, i.e., make a simple yeast dough, rising in the fridge. Cooks.com had a couple of recipes which I tried. The first had so much liquid in it that I threw it out. Second was much better, and produced a light dough that puffed up royally when I fried the little buggers. Slightly different taste, however. I think I should have added more sugar.

I’m in the midst of trying to help my son, a senior in HS, with psychology homework. Now I remember why I spent most of my time in the only psych course I ever took in college, 26 years ago, asleep. Wow. Talk about reading pages and pages of text that are not even written in English.

Your humble correspondent once again takes keyboard in hand and hits the crashing cyberwaves.
